Elan joined L-Dub in 2021. Some of her earliest childhood memories include reading books under the dinner table and writing melodramatic stories in chapter installments to entertain her friends in elementary school. She has always been interested in education and, before attending grad school, taught preschool in California and college English in Hangzhou, China. After earning her master’s in teaching, Elan taught in Highline and Seattle school districts. She thinks middle school students are rockstars and she is continually impressed by their big, smart brains and compassionate hearts. Aside from teaching, Elan enjoys camping, writing, reading too many books at one time, visiting her big extended family in SoCal, and goofing around with her daughter, husband, and dog.
