Gala 2019 – May 17, 2019
Each spring an annual gala is held to celebrate L-Dub and support the financial aid fund, separate from the Fuerza Fund. The evening includes inspiring speakers, a cocktail reception, raffle, wine grab, and a festive dinner.
Mark you calendars, gather loved ones and friends, and put on your masks and capes...and become superheroes at this year's gala, May 17, 2019! We'll be celebrating the everyday heroes and acts of heroism at L-Dub, and we hope you can join us for great food, good friends, and even better deeds!
With equity and social justice at the core of our mission, we are steadfast in our resolve to have the resources available so that every accepted L-Dub girl receives everything our program has to offer. Recognizing that tuition and fees are a large financial commitment and for many, a significant barrier for entry, LWGMS reserves 15% of its overall budget to our Financial Aid Program. This aid is designed to offset the difference between a family's resources and the tuition and other costs associated with attending LWGMS.
LWGMS allocated more than $320,000 in need-based financial aid to 25% of the student body in the 2018/2019 school year. This commitment to access – and providing an L-Dub education to families who otherwise might not have considered one an option – is deeply important to us and to our community.
While financial aid supports the tuition and fees of a student to access an LWGMS education, the Fuerza Chest was established for students in need of additional support to participate in school- and Fuerza Family Association-related activities – such as costs associated with student weekend gatherings and excursions, or tickets to our annual gala – not covered by tuition and fees or existing financial aid awards. All requests are handled confidentially and with sensitivity.
+ The Ask
A solicitation will be made during the event with proceeds supporting financial aid to ensure every student, regardless of economic background, can access an L-Dub education and fully engage in the learning, exploring, and opportunities that empower or girls to be strong in ind, body, and voice.
As a community, our collective effort matters. We ask everyone to participate and invest at the level that is meaningful to their families. Every size of investment makes a difference. Today, 23% of LWGMS students receive some form of financial assistance to attend.
+ Giving Levels to Consider
The paddle raise at the LWGMS Gala offers a variety of donation levels, and a collective opportunity for everyone in the room to make a difference together. On May 17, when the Ask is made for Financial Aid and Fuerza Chest, please participate with a donation that is personally meaningful. Your generous support will help change student’s lives. Thank you!
If you’d like to raise your paddle before the night of the event, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
