STEAM Camp 2018

Lake Washington Girls Middle School STEAM camp is great way for elementary girls to get an introduction to all things L-Dub…and to get a taste of our special brand of tinkering. Campers will be engaged in building and making projects packed with STEAM skills, and will have many opportunities to collaborate and flex their creative thinking muscles. STEAM Camp provides rising 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls with fun-filled, real world exploration that opens their eyes to the world around them. STEAM concepts are discovered daily as a way of thinking, approaching problems, experimenting, and finding solutions. Here at LWGMS, in summer camps and the school classroom, we are celebrating the STEM to STEAM initiative!

Problem-solving, risk-taking, and mistake-making will be going on all day as the girls will work on a variety of projects that will most certainly include cardboard, straws, hot glue guns, fabric, metal, wood, and whatever other materials peak their interests. Stop-motion claymation filmmaking, model building, and engineering challenges will also be part of their experience. Campers should expect a dynamic experience working with hand tools, modeling clay, recycled materials, iPads, cameras, computers, and more!
