B.S. Biology, Minor Spanish, Saint Louis University Mackenzie is originally from Missouri and now calls Washington home. She is so excited to join the L-Dub community and looks forward to learning and growing with her students. She spent a short portion of her career pursuing wildlife biology, then found her way to outdoor education where she fostered students' science and social-emotional learning outdoors. Mackenzie fell in love with how these experiences empowered students, where they proved to themselves they could do hard things all while building connections with self, each other, and learning. This path and passion led Mackenzie to the L-dub classroom, where teaching and empowering the whole student is also at the forefront. Mackenzie has a minor in Spanish and lived in Madrid, Spain for four months during college. She cannot wait to be in both the Science and Spanish classrooms! When Mackenzie is not at school, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her dogs Bear and Arrow, usually hiking and trail running. She also loves observing wildlife, especially birds and marine mammals. |
