Fundraising at L-Dub
Fundraising plays an important role at L-Dub, fueling our financial assistance program and rounding out our operating budget. Our annual fundraising efforts consist of four major initiatives throughout the school year: the Fuerza Fund, the Women in Support of Girls’ Education Luncheon, the FFA Initiative, and the Spring Celebration. Each initiative has its own fundraising goal, which together create our annual fundraising goal of $300,000.
Fundraising is managed by the Advancement Team, which consists of the Head of School, the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, and the Director of Marketing and Communications. If you have any questions or would like to explore giving opportunities in more detail, please reach out to [email protected].
The Fuerza Fund kicks off in September of each year and is our general fundraising campaign. Donations made to the Fuerza Fund support our operating budget, providing things such as technology in classrooms and professional development for faculty and staff. Our Advancement Team will solicit donations and pledges for the Fuerza Fund from the beginning of the school year through the end of January. All donations made outside of other events will be funneled into the Fuerza Fund.
The Women in Support of Girls’ Education Luncheon is a powerful gathering of women change-makers united by a vision: a world where every girl can access an education that empowers her to lead. This inspiring event not only builds community, it provides support for our financial assistance program. The luncheon is held annually in October and is free to attend. All parents and caregivers who identify as female are invited to attend.
The FFA Initiative is spearheaded by our Fuerza Family Association as a community fundraising event. Offering students and families an opportunity to share L-Dub with their networks and celebrate our small but mighty school.
The Spring Celebration is the culmination of our year of fundraising efforts. Happening each year in April, this event serves as a final opportunity for you to help us reach our annual fundraising goal. Opportunities to give at the Spring Celebration include purchasing tickets and tables, participating in our silent and live auctions, raising your paddle, and more. Donations received at the Spring Celebration benefit our financial assistance program.
Other Ways to Support
Are you interested in sponsoring an event? L-Dub welcomes community partners whose work and vision align with our values and mission. We are excited to celebrate new and longstanding relationships with community partners who share our commitment to creating fuller belonging, increasing civic responsibility, and building critical partnerships that embrace the cultivation of leadership, success, and failure as needed. Aside from cultivating visibility and awareness of values alignment, sponsoring our events as a community partner increases engagement with current and potential audience members and lets you connect with your community in a meaningful way.
Corporate matching gifts may double or even triple your gift. View this list and contact your personnel office for eligibility requirements and matching gift forms which must be completed and returned with your gift to the school. Spouses, retirees, and board members may qualify. L-Dub's EIN is 91-1835055.
Giving a gift of appreciated stock allows you to make a larger contribution than you might otherwise have been able. By giving the stock directly to L-Dub you avoid paying capital gains taxes on the increase in value, and you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value. Donors are asked to contact their brokers and request that the stock is electronically transferred to the school’s account at Edward Jones.
Volunteering at L-Dub is a great way to support your and your student's school experience. You will get to know teachers and school staff, classmates, and other families. L-Dub encourages parents and caregivers to volunteer thereby having a positive impact on our school. We understand that families' schedules often dictate how they can volunteer which is why there are a variety of ways to be involved.
